EFI-Solutions is proud to have delivered an innovative, factory-built solution for the Village of Ocean Beach, New York. This turnkey system, comprised of a new well house and fully equipped living quarters, was designed to ensure uninterrupted water service, even during severe coastal weather events. This project highlights our commitment to engineering for both performance and preparedness.
Project Overview
Commissioned by the Village of Ocean Beach and managed by Harper-Haines Fluid Control & Bensin Contracting, this project addressed the need for secure, resilient infrastructure on a barrier island accessible only by barge. EFI-Solutions, Inc. provided a fully prefabricated system, including a well head and chemical feed station, a breezeway with decking and stairs, and a two-section “safe house” with integrated kitchen, bunks, storage, and restroom facilities. To protect water operations from storm surge impacts, the structures were designed to be elevated on a Parallam platform, and installed above base flood elevation, enabling personnel to live on-site during emergencies.
EFI-Solutions' Role
EFI-Solutions engineered, fabricated, delivered, and reassembled five modular building units, each pre-fitted with all specified piping, insulation, and finish materials. Our factory-controlled environment ensured top-tier quality and rapid production while minimizing field labor and on-site disruption. The design included James Hardie vertical siding and a standing seam metal roof, blending durability with a cohesive island aesthetic.
Collaboration & Impact
Working alongside H2M Architects & Engineers and Harper-Haines Fluid Control, EFI-Solutions, Inc. delivered a complex and critical water infrastructure project with zero exceptions to the spec. From barge logistics to modular reassembly, the system was tailored for the unique challenges of Ocean Beach, ensuring long-term water reliability in a high-risk coastal zone.
